Biography

Shappo Vladimir (04.02.1949, s. Vidzy, Braslav district, Vitebsk region), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1972). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1989). He lives in Novopolotsk.

The artist works in easel graphic art, watercolors, decorative art.

Among the works are: «Golden Braslau» (1989), «Guardian Angels» (2003), «Kupalye» (2005), «Self-Portrait with a Cat» (2009), «Peter's Abdication» (2009), «The Gospel» (2009 ), «IOF» (2009), «St. Francis» (2009), «Escape into Egypt» (2009), «Entry into Jerusalem» (2009), «Praying for a Cup» (2009), «Conversation at the Gates» ( 2009), «The Judas Kiss» (2009), allegorical images of the artists V. Vasilyev, D. Generalnitsky, F. Gumen, A. Dosuzhev, O. Kroshkin, L. Mirzoyan, O. Orlov, V. Raltsevich, A. Slepov, D. Tsirlin (all in 2009), a triptych «Snudy Lake» (1997); a series of graphic compositions in various techniques «Poozerye» (1980), «The Tales of Old Braslav» (1984), «Man is What He Eats" (2009) and others.
