Biography

 

Kroshkin Oleg (07.07.1950, v-ge. Sokol-Dolinsky, Sakhalin region., Russia – 07.11.2020, Vitsebsk), the Belarusian painter. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1972). He exhibited since 1971. Oleg is a member of Union of Artists of the USSR and a member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1991). Lived in Vitebsk.

Oleg Kroshkin worked in easel painting and drawing. His works are characterized by appeal to the primitive style and pop art, urban folklore, the use of collage, ironic character of the images.

Among the works are: «Nonobjective», «Three Trees» (1985), «Composition in Yellow Tones» (1988), «The Portrait of the Naked» (1989), «Night and Day» (1990), «Thoughts about Town» (1990), «Lovers» (1994), «Creativity» (1997), «Passion. Lovers» (2000), «White Picture» (2002), "Black Picture» (2002), «Artist and Model» (2003), «Lyrical Nothing» (2004), «Motion» (2004), «Artist at Open Air» (2004), «Trunk» (2005); series «My Town» (1989–91), «From Bird's Life» (1989–91), etc.

Works are kept in National Museum of the city of Szczecin (Poland), Vitebsk Art Museum, Art Center named after Marc Chagall (Vitebsk), Museum of Modern Art (Minsk), collection of Priorbank (Minsk and Vitebsk offices), City Hall, Frankfort on the Oder, collection of the poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko (Russian), national and foreign private collections.

Oleg is a participant of an international open air «Artist and Ecology» (Senezh, Moscow, 1991), the I International open-air named after Marc Chagall (Vitebsk, 1994), «PANODERAMA» (Frankfurt an der Oder, 2003), the open-air in the city of Rezekne (Latvia, 2008).

The artist participated in exhibitions in Poland, Belarus, Russia, and Germany.
