Biography

Baranov Yury (07.04.1949, Vitebsk – 25.12.2024, Vitebsk). Being a pupil, occupy himself with going in graphic studio. Yury  has no professional art education. He has not had a graphic designer at the enterprises of our town, contributed to the works «Dvina». Since 1988 he is a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. He lived in Vitebsk.

Worked in linocuts, xylography, etchings, bookplate, occupies himself with jewelry art. Since 1970 Yury is a participant of art exhibitions. He took part in the international, national, regional exhibitions.

Major works are: the illustrations for the books: «The Stories About the Theater, «N. Abalkin, «Lyric Poetry» P. Yavorov, «Hot Snow» Yu. Bondarev, graphic series «Cultural and Architectural Heritage of Vitebsk».

Yury Baranov was busy with design of the books of Moscow publishing houses «Young Guard», «Soviet Russia», «Contemporary», «Fiction», as well as several works of Belarussian writers and poets, made a large number of bookplates.
