Biography

 

Nesterenko Vasily (30.09.1941, v-ge Dobeya, Shumilinsky district, Vitebsk region – 26.02.2021, Vitebsk), Belarusian painter, teacher. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute named after S.M. Kirov (1969). Since 1969 – a teacher, Doctor of Teaching (1980), an Associate Professor (1982), the Head of the Department of Fine Arts (1985-1995). A member of the Belarusian Union of Artists (1993). The artist lived in Vitebsk.

Vasily Nesterenko worked in oil painting, mainly in the genre of landscape.

Among the works are: «Victory Square in the Evening» (1976), «Blue Kirov Bridge» (1985), «To the Mothers and Children of 1941st» (1991), «Vitebsk» (1992), «Polotsk Land. Belaya Rus» (1997), «The Ballad about the Partisan from Ushachy» (1999), «Vitebsk Region. Winter» (2001), «Last Apples» (2005), «Country Estate» (2007), «Sunrise» (2010), «Brest. Tiraspol Gate» (2010) and others.
