Biography

 

Glushko Mikhail (14.10.1944, the village of Buda, Senno District, Vitebsk Region. - 14.05.1998, Vitebsk), a Belarusian artist, painter. He graduated from the Art and Graphics Department of the Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute (1970). He was a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists since 1975. M. Glushko lived in Vitebsk.

The artist mainly worked in oil, in the genres of portrait and landscape, as well as genre painting. A realistic basis and the careful design of space are inherent in his works.

Among the major works are: «For the Shmyryov Prize» (1971), «Portrait of a War Veteran», «Winter Beginning» (1972), «September» (1973), «The Unconquerable» (1973), «Vitebsk is being built» (1974), «Glowing Night» (1975), «On the Road» (1976), «Mother's Portrait» (1977), «On the Berezina» (1984), «Feat of Yu. Smirnov» (1984), «General Dovator» (1984), «Flax» (1986), «Senno Land» (1987), «Before a Thunderstorm» (1987), «Rye» (1991), «Lenochka» (1993), etc.

The works are kept in the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History.
