Biography

 

Grivusevich Pyotr (18.03.1935, the village of Pyaregradz, Myadzyel District, Minsk Region — 24.08.2020, Novopolotsk), a Belarusian artist. In 1966 he graduated from the Minsk Art College. Since 1968 he participated in art exhibitions. P. Grivusevich was awarded with certificates of honour from the Vitebsk regional organization of the Union of Artists of the BSSR, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of Komsomol, the Novopolotsk Culture Department in recognition of his active creative work. Since 1966 he was a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. The artist lived in Novopolotsk.

P. Grivusevich worked in easel painting in the genres of historical painting, landscape. Among his major works are: «Travelling the Roads of War» (1970), «Mother» (1973), «Summer Time» (1985), «Farewell to Autumn», «Clouds over the Dvina River» (1989), «Ancient Polotsk» (1986); the triptych «Polotsk Land».

His works are kept in private collections, as well as in the collections of the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk (about 40 artworks). From time to time, they are on display at the artist's personal exhibitions and other thematic museum exhibitions.
