Biography
Dosuzhev Alexander (31.10.1945, the village of Pukhavichy, Pukhavichy District, Minsk Region — February 2014, Vitebsk), a Belarusian artist. He graduated from the Art and Graphics Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute in 1970. Alexander Igorevich was taught by I. Stolyarov, A. Nekrasov, G. Klikushin. In 1987, the artist became a member of the creative association «Kvadrat (Square)», and from 1990, he was a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists.
The artist worked in easel painting, graphics, also created collages, combine paintings, objects and installations. Alexander Igorevich was an author of the creative concept PLIP (a surface, a line, a spot), as well as of a variety of exhibition posters for Vitebsk artists.
Among his major works are: «At the End of February» (1976), «Cyclamen» (1977), «To the Outgoing Summer» (1977), «Calla Lilies» (1980), «Autumn Still Life with a Viennese Armchair» (1981), «On the Birthday of "Kvadrat"» (1988), «Interior with an Ajar Door» (1988), the series «Through the Red, Through the Black, Through the Blue» (1988), «Self Portrait against the Iron Background» (1990), «Moving» (1992), PLIP-Object 1 (Time) (1994), «Dedication to M.» (2006), «Good Morning, Vincent!» (2007), «Stop» (2008), «Liberated Reality» (2008), «Dengarium» (2008), and others.
His works are kept in the funds of the Vitebsk Art Museum, «Vitebsk Center of Contemporary Art» Museum, private collections of many countries.
