Biography

Zuev Yury (02.04.1934, Biysk, Altai Land, Russia), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Irkutsk Art College (1962), Higher School of Industrial Art named after V. Mukhina in Leningrad (1968). Since 1987 the artist is a member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1987). Lives in Vitebsk.

Yury Zuev works in monumental and easel painting, decorative plastic.

Among his works are: paintings and graphic compositions «Silence» (1998), «Kizhi» (1984), «Memories of the Dutch» (1984), «Lilac» (1993), «The Night of the Full Moon» (1994), «The Oracle» (1997), «Meeting of the Poet with Vitebsk» (1998-99), «My Cross» (1998), «What is Truth» (2001), «Musicians» (1996), «Apocalypse in ХХІ century» (2003-04), «Dialogue. Echo of Chernobyl» (1986), «Flowers. Spring» (2003), «Victory» (2004), «Pegasus» (2004), «Still Life. Branch of Apple Tree» (2000), «The Chariot»(2001), «The Cellist»; a series of works with African and Indian masks (1992), «Zodiac Signs» (1995); plastic compositions «A. Pushkin» (1996), «Dedicated to A. Schnittke and his Ninth Symphony» (1995), «Princess Olga - the Founder of the Town» (1998); sgraffito «Science» (1967, Irkutsk), mosaics for apartment house (1983, Vitebsk), painting «Nature and a Man» (1985, Vitebsk), sculptural reliefs, paintings, stained glass windows for the kindergarten (1992, Vitebsk), etc.
