Biography

 

Chmil Anatoly (25.06.1948, s. Osievka, Vinnitsa region, Ukraine), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Leningrad Pedagogical Institute named after A.Herzen (1971). Since 1971 he worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer (1991) at the Department of Fine Arts of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov.A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1996).

He works in different genres of easel painting.

Among the works are: the landscapes «Novodevichy Monastery» (1986), «Evening. Old Vitebsk» (1990), «The Town in the Morning» (1992), «Vitebsk. Spring Waters» (1998), «Winter Window. Town Hall» (2002), «The Saviour-Euphrosyne Monastery. Autumn» (2002), «The Rain is Over» (2004), «Echo of the Past» (2007), «The Morning above the Dvina» (2008), a triptych «The Nice Town of Vitebsk» (1989-92); the portraits «Cherry» (the portrait of a young teacher) (1976), «Jasmine Flowering Time» (the portrait of his wife) (1987), «Self-Portrait» (1998), «Portrait of the Mother» (2000); the still lives «Bluebells. Salute to Chagall» (1997), «Asters» (2001), «Irises » (2007) and others.

His works are kept in Russian museums, in private collections in Italy and Germany.
