Biography

 

Kuharev Vladimir Ivanovich (18.11.1916, v-ge. Zadetuni, Vitebsk district, Vitebsk region - 11.07.2000, Vitebsk), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Vitebsk Art College (1938).A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1953). Lived in Vitebsk.

He worked in various genres of easel painting, more often in portrait and thematic picture. The works are characterized by symbolic significance of images, ornamentality of pictorial language.

Among the works are: «In Gestapo's Torture Chamber» (1945), «K. Zaslonov» (1946), «Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya» (1952), «Farewell of Slav Girl» (1955), «Bat'ka Minai» (1957), «Heroes of the First Belarusian» (1958), «Actress G. Markina» (1965) «Vera Khoruzhaya» (1974), «Khatyn. Mother» (1978), «Veteran» (1979), «People's Artist F. Shmakov» (1981), «Danila Raytsev» (1985), «Marc Chagall» (1987), «Francysk Skaryna» (1989), «The Annunciation Church» (1989), «Vitebsk Beauty-89» (1989), «Princess Olga» (1991), «Evening Bell» (1991), «Prayer» (1992), «Euphrosyne of Polotsk» (1993), «Vitebsk» (1993).
