Biography

 

Levkovich Mikhail (09.03.1950, v-ge. Yazno, Miory district, Vitebsk region), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1976). He was taught by famous Belarusian artists-teachers L. Antimonov, Oleg Orlov, as well as by the USSR People's Artist K. Maximov in Moscow. Since 1976 Mikhail Vasilyevich has been working as a teacher at Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov. A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1995). A chairman of the association of watercolor artists' «Vitebsk Watercolor» (1995-2011). Lives in Vitebsk.

The sphere of creative interests - watercolors and oil paintings in the genres of landscape, portrait, still life, thematic composition.

Among the works are: paintings «At Lake Losvido» (1979), «Holiday in the Town» (1990), «Dedicated to Rogneda» (2001), «Vladimir Karatkevich. Through Eternity» (2001), a series «Belarusian Pridviniye» (1984); watercolors «Dwarf» (2004), «Todor Klyashtorny. On the Other Side of the Day» (2005), «The Wall of the Temple» (2007), «Night Butterfly» (2008), «Remembering Summer» (2009), «Victory. Grunwald» (2010), a series «African Dreams» (2008) and others.

The artworks are kept in M. Chagall's Museum in Vitebsk, Vitebsk Art Museum, Polotsk Art Gallery, in «Elkes-Galeri» and gallery «Lust auf Kunst» in Germany, as well as in state and private collections in Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the USA and others.
