Biography
Maley Alexandr (27.02.1951, v-ge Sadkovshchina, Verkhnedvinsk district, Vitebsk region), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogic Institute. Since 1982 he is a member of Belarusian Union of Artists. He founded the Creative Association «Square» (1987–1994). The artist lives in Vitebsk.
Volumetric and spatial composition and conceptual painting are the main directions in his creative work.
Among his works are: watercolours «Spring Melody» (1972), «Old Vitebsk» (1976), a series «My Very Old Vitebsk» (1980), pictorial compositions «Eptesicus» (1990), «Motion» (1992), volumetric and spatial compositions «Object. Cross.» (1994), «Cube-Square» (1993), cube-suprematical spatial objects (2004), conceptual painting «Motion of Suprematical Form» (1993), «Reverse Information» (1995), «Butterfly effect» (2007), «Picturesque Object» (2008), a series «Absolute Painting 1–6» (2009), installation «Yellow Light» (2007), «Silver Object in Space» (2009) and others.
The works are kept in Vitebsk Art Museum and Marc Chagall Art Center (Vitebsk).
