Biography

Nikolaev Victor (29.02.1960, Minsk), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Minsk Art School named after A. Glebov (1979), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute in (1987). He has exhibited his paintings to the public since 1985. He is a member of Belarusian Union of Designers (since 1988). He is a member of Belarusian Union of Artists (since 1999). The Head of Vitebsk Regional organization «Belarusian Union of Artists» since 2023. The artist lives and works in Minsk and Vitebsk.

He works in monumental art, decorative and easel painting, graphics, conceptual and object art.

Among his works are «Vitebsk Lioness» (1989), «Awakening of the Dvina» (1997), «Memory Valley» (1997), «Internal Life of Square» (1998), «Universe» (1999), «Moon Territory» (2000), «And the ship's sailing» (2001), «An Ocean of Expectations» (2002), «Unstable Balance» (2003), «Archistructure of the Black» (2006), «Outlines» (2007), «Awakening» (2008), «Flow of Time» (2008), «White Games» (2009), «Gaze of Time» (2009), a series «Reality» (1991), objects (2003-2010) and others.

He is the author of monumental wall paintings «Seasons» (1988, hall of residence of production association «Monolith» in Vitebsk), graffito stained-glass windows (All are in Vitebsk.).

His works are kept in Mark Rothko Foundations (Daugavpils, Latvia), Marc Chagall Museum (Vitebsk, Belarus), as well as in Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History and private collections in Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Germany, England and Israel.
