Nikolai Tkachev presents his works in different genres of easel painting. The significant features of the artist's creative method is the special attention to the light source and light of the space and the characters on his canvases. Since the 1990s, Tkachev turns his attention to the topic of human spirituality and religion within Christian ideas.
Since 1969 he's a constant participant of regional, all-union exhibitions and open airs.
His works are kept in Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History, in public and private collections of our country.
