Biography

Tihonenko Vasily (12.03.1937, Vitebsk), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Minsk Art School (1960). A participant of art exhibitions since 1965. A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1967). He lives in Vitebsk.

The artist works in various genres of easel painting.

Among the works are: «During the War» (1975), «Revival» (1980), «Behind Enemy Lines» (1981), «Summer Evening on Lake Glubokoye» (1983), «The Battle for Orsha» (1984), «The Unforgettable» (1985), «Country Yard» (1986), «Winter Evening» (1990), «1945. Morning in the Country» (1991), «On Holiday» (1999), «Lilac» (2002), «The Yard of Forester» (2002), «Euphrosyne of Polotsk» (2003), «F. Skorina» (2004), «In Braslav District» (2006), «The Alley in the Park of Braslav» (2006), «Vitebsk» (2007) and others.

His works are kept in National Art Museum of Belarus, the funds of Belarusian Union of Artists, Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History.
