Biography

 

Tolobova Elena (06.08.1975, v-ge Olgovo, Vitebsk district, Vitebsk region), Belarussian artist. She graduated from Vitebsk State Technological University, in specialty fashion-designer (2000). Since 2000 and up to the present time the paintress works as a lecturer at the Design Department of VSTU. Elena Olegovna is a the grant winner of the «Gaude Polonia» program (the Ministry of Culture of Poland). She is a regular participant of town, regional, national and international exhibitions, as well as a curator of student exhibitions, contests and projects. Elena Olegovna is a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers (2002) as well as of the Belarussian Union of Artists (2014). She lives in Vitebsk.

The artist works in art textiles (manual smooth weaving), as well as in the field of paper hand-stitching, creates the installation and objects. The traditions of neoconstructivism and unique traditions of the artistic sphere of Vitebsk are combined in the artist's creative work. Among the works: «Midday Demon» (2013), «Second Wind» (2004), «Intervention» (2014), «Marionettes» (2012), «My Number One» (2012), «Pygmies» (2014), «Silent Games» (2012), «Black River» (2013), «Incognita» a diptych (2011), «Nord-Ost» (2005), «Gofro» a diptych (2010), «TRIP» 2013) and others.
