Biography
Bychkovsky Mikhail (30.09.1960, v-ge Stakhovo, Stolin District, Brest Region), a Belarusian ceramist. He graduated from the Art and Graphics Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1982). Mikhail taught at the secondary school № 10 in Borisov (1982), worked at the Vitebsk association «Keramika» (1984–87), since 1987 he is a ceramic artist in «Vitebsktorgstroy». Since 2002 he is a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists (2002). Mikhail Bychkovsky lives in Vitebsk.
The artist works in the field of decorative ceramics, reinforced plastic, uses its plasticity in interior design.
Among the works are: the ornamental works of plastic art «Melody» (1987), «Threesome» (1991), «Walk» (1996), the ceramic studies «Smiles of My Workshop» (1997), «Adam and Eve» (1998), «Evening» (1999), «Natasha» (2000), «Sasha» (2000), «Sad Song» (2001), «Crests» (2001), etc. He created the ornamental designs in the interior of a flower shop «Tsvety (Flowers)» (Vitebsk, 1995), the work of plastic art in the interior of a shop «Belwest» (Vitebsk, 1997), the decorative monumental composition in a cafe «Maestro» (Vitebsk, 2007), the sculptured ornament in a recreational center «Ostrov Sokrovishch (Treasure Island)» (Vitebsk, 2008), a series of ceramic panels for the interior of a cafe in the town of Kopys (Orsha district, 2009).
His works are mainly characterized by the application of integrated interior solutions, ornamental plastic art, environmental engagement, the implementation of mixed techniques, the focusing on the visual potential of the used materials.
