Biography

Faley Gennady (14.10.1957, v-ge Zadveya, Baranovichi district, Brest region), Belarusian artist. He graduated from the Department «Design and Modeling of Products of Textile and Light Industry» of Vitebsk State Technological Institute of Light Industry (1987). Since 1982 he lives in Vitebsk. A member of the creative association «Arshytsa». Since 2000 he has been working at the Department of Design of VSTU. A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1996).

The artist works in the field of weaving, textile, object.

Among the works are: the tapestries «Ornament» (2000), «Journey All Over Vitebsk» (2001), «Composition» (2002); the textile composition «Icarus I-II» (2002), «Composition I, II, II, IV» (2003), the installations «The House for Piano» (2002), «Icarus III» (2005), «Silence» (2006) «God Save Belarus» (2007), «He and She» (2009), «Spiral» (2010), «Vernissage» (2010), «Chaos» (2010); the art objects «Beads for the Beloved II» (2008), «Icarus IV» (Germany, 2009), and others.

His works are kept in Marc Chagall Museum, the Museum of Local History in Baranavichi, the Museum of Modern Art in Minsk.
