Biography
Klikushin Gregory (04.12.1921, v-ge Sladkovo, Maslyansky district, Tyumen region, Russia – February, 2014, Vitebsk), Belarusian artist. Graduated from History Department of Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute (1950), Moscow Printing Institute (1956). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1995). Lives in Vitebsk.
The artist worked in the field of font and easel graphics, book illustration.
Among his works are: linocut «At the Dvina» (1960), «After the Rain» (1960), «Luchesa in Winter» (1964), «The 50th anniversary of Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute» (1968), «The Church in Luzhesno Village» (1968); series «Vitebsk - My Love» (1960-74), «Old Vitebsk» (1961-69), the series of drawings «The Corners of the Old Town» (1957-60), «Rural Landscapes» (1959-60), «Portraits» (1959-61), and others.
The artist designed the books by Charles Dickens («The Adventures of Oliver Twist», 1955), Charlotte Bronte («Jane Eyre», 1957), Deny Diderot («Nun», 1961), Y. Kupala («Dramatic Works», 1959), Y. Kolas («Zbor Tvoraw» 1960; «Na Prastorakh Zhytsya» 1961), V. Dubovka («Paleskaya Rapsodyya», 1961), R. Borodulin («Runets, krasavats, nalіvatsa», 1961), A. Wolsky («Vodblіsky Daliokіkh Mayakow», 1956), T. Klyashtorny («Zalatoye Viazmo», 1960), «Belaruskіya Narodnyya Kazky» (1961), «Belaruskіya Narodnyya Prykazky i Prymawky» (1957), and others. Gregory Philipovich was the author-developer of several book series, posters and decorative fonts.
