Biography
Androsov Viktor (12.07.1937, Tbilisi, Georgia – 17.03.2015, Vitebsk) was a Belarusian painter and teacher. He graduated from Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Y. Repin in 1969. He was taught by A. Smirnov, V. Rudnev, A. Zaitsev, V. Sokolov and L. Khudiakov. From 1969 to 2002 he worked in the art workshops, was a professor at Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute named after S. M. Kirov (1975–1981). In 1989 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Belarus. He lived in Vitebsk.
The artist worked in various genres of easel painting. His works are characterized by the presence of a plot and realistic interpretation of forms.
Among his works are thematic compositions Vitebsk is on the Brink of New Year (1999), The People's Poet of Belarus Yakub Kolas (2000–2005), The Chernobyl Tragedy (2005–2007), portraits Inna Ovchinnikova (1988), Sollertinsky Ivan Ivanovich in the 20th (1998), Self-portrait (2007), landscapes Vitebsk, Spring; Belarusian Winter (both in 1992), In the Land of Blue Lakes. Ushachy District (1998), Vitebsk is on the Eve of New Millennium (1999), Winter in Vitebsk (2002), Morning in Polesie (2003), In the Land of Blue Lakes. Braslaw District (2006), still lifes, etc.
The artist's works are kept in Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History.
