Biography

 

Orlov Oleg (18.07.1934, v-ge Starosokolniki, Pskov region – 22.04.1995, Vitebsk), Belarusian painter. He graduated from Riga Art College named after J. Rosental (1958), Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (1966). He taught at Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1966-94). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1972).

The artist worked in various genres of the art of oil painting. The experimental nature of his works is combined with a kind of associative and impressionistic vision of reality.

Among the works are: thematic compositions «The Great Patriotic War of 1941-45» (1968), «Heroic and Labor Vitebsk Region» (1968), «Memory of the Mother» (1974), landscapes «Landscape in Leskovichi» (1970), «Luchesa» (1970), «Vitebsk» (1970), «Skating-Rink in Vitebsk» (1970), «Old Castle» (1980), «Autumn in Bielitsa» (1981), «Winter in Zdravnevo» (1985), «Victory Square» (1990 ), «Old Polotsk» (1993), the portraits of artists A. Soloviev (1980) and A. Memus (1980); still lives «Lilac» (1985), «Daisies» (1985) and others.
