Biography

Boboedov Ivan (28.02..1925, v-ge Bobino Beshenkovichy region – 28.02.2002, Beshenkovichy), Belarussan artist. He studied at Simferopol Art College named after N.S. Samokish (1946–1948), graduated from Minsk Art College named after A. Glebov (1952), the Department of Graphic Arts of Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute named after S.M. Kirov (1976). He taught drawing and painting at Vitebsk Art and Graphics Pedagogical College (1952–53), worked as a decorator in Beshenkovichy art workshop (since 1968). Ivan Timofeevich was a participant of the Great Patriotic War. He fought in the ranks of the 71st infantry division (1944–1945). He was awarded 2 battle orders and the medal «For Courage». Since 1981 he was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1981). He was awarded the medal of the Belarusian Union of Artists (2002).

He worked mainly in easel painting. The main place in the work belongs to the painted lyrical landscapes, they are: «Sunny Day in February» (1950), «Green Willow Tree in the Garden», «Early May» (1954), «Evening at Swamp» (1957), «The Last Snow in the Village of Boboedovo» (1982), «The Evening Forest» (1988), «Gloomy Forest», «Forest Above the River», «Lesnichovka», «Pine» (all in 1989), «Autumn in the Village,» «Autumn Birches» (both 1994), «Flowering Pear Trees», «Wood» (both in 1998), etc. He painted icons for the church in Boboedovo. («The Apostles Peter and Paul», «Ilya the Prophet» (1954–57), etc. The picturesque canvas of the artist are characterized by realistic manner of implementation, plastic restraint, emotional expressiveness of the image.
