Biography
Vitko Vladimir (10.05.1933, v-ge. Gresk, Slutsky district, Minsk region – 07.04.2020, v-ge. Golchichi, Slutsky district, Minsk region), Belarusian artist. In 1960 he graduated from Minsk Art College. Worked as an artist at Vitebsk hosiery factory «KIM» (1961–64), on Silk Enterprise (1964–1968), from 1968 at works «Art». Vladimir Ilyich had been participating in art exhibitions since 1964. He was a member of the Second International Open Air named after M. Chagall (1997), open air, dedicated to P. Masherov (1999). Vladimir Ilyich was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1975). Lived in Vitebsk.
The artist worked in the genres of thematic paintings, landscape and portrait. Among the works are: «Vitebsk Outskirt» (1965), «Guerrilla Mound» (1972), «On Polotsk Land» (1977), «The Land of Lakes» (1984), «Old Vitebsk» (1985), «The Image of the Mother» (1992), «Trees» (2003), «Dedication to V. Bykov» (2007), «The Ravens» (2008), «Autumn» (1968), «Landscape» (1981) and others.
Associative images, symbolic and allegorical designs, embodied in simple and concise, plastically flowing and decorative art forms, occupy the central place in the artist's works.
His works are kept in National Art Museum of Belarus.
