Biography

Kovaleva Nina (19.07.1960, v-ge Zavidovo, Zavidovsky district, Kalinin region, Russia), Belarusian artist. She graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1983). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1997). Lives in Vitebsk.

N. Kovaleva works in easel graphics, watercolors, creates collage compositions.

The list of her major works includes: graphic series «Ordinary Story», «Pushkin», «The Tale of Igor's Campaign» (1985), «Gogol», «Griboyedov», «Leskov», «Dreams» (1986), «Pushkin (Tynyanov)» (1987 - 1991), «Masks» (1992), «The State» (1993), «Golden Pot» (1994), «The Gray», «Single» (1995); book graphics «The Mind is Poor From Vodka», «Your Light» (1988), «Snake Charmer» (1997); conceptual art «Pull!» (1995), Untitled» (1996), «The White» (1997), «Western-style Renovation», «Passe-partout» (1998), «Boutique» «Trussardi», «Blackbird», «A window on Europe», «Test of the pen?» (2004), «The Angel, Grieving For My Sins» (2007), «The Cross of Russia» (2014); art objects «Oracle», «The Feast of Kings», «Light Witnesses» (2011), «Origin», «Absolution», «Way» and others.
The works were exhibited in Vitebsk, Polotsk, Minsk, Smolensk, Pskov, Moscow, Kaunas, Berlin.
The artist works in the field of book graphics in publishing houses of Minsk and Moscow.
The works are kept in private collections in Vitebsk, Minsk, Moscow, Paris.
