Biography

 

Lalyko Boris (04.07.1962, Lnozavod village, Gorodok district, Vitebsk region.), Belarusian artist. He studied at the Republican Boarding School (music and fine arts) named after I. Akhremchik (1974–1981), Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute (1984–1990). He is a member of Belarusian Union of Artists (2002). Lives in Vitebsk.

He works in easel graphics, painting, watercolors.

Among the works are: «Alive and Forgotten» (1988), «The Portrait of knyaz Vitovt» (1994), «The Portrait of Euphrosyne of Polotsk» (1998), «The Portrait of Lev Sapega» (1999), «The Holly Dormition Cathedral in Vitebsk» (2000), «Self-Portrait» (2005), «Vitebsk of ХIХ c.» (2007), «Vitebsk. Vitba view and view of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the ХIХ c.» (2007), «Vitovt» (2009), «Lev Sapega» (2009), «Olgerd» (2009); triptych «Old Vitebsk» (2001), series «Vitebsk Yards» (2000), «I am a Beast...» (2000-02); etchings «Homestead» (1992), «Still Life with Poppies» (2000).

Boris Lalyko is the author of illustrations to the books by I. Melezh («People at the Swamp», 1981), I. Naumenko («In the Pine Forest at Dawn», 1988), V. Neklyaev («Trouble», 1989), M. Metlitsky («The Way of a Man», 1989) and others.
