Biography
Moguchy Valery (18.04.1959, v-ge Kaverdziaki, Brest region) Belarussian sculptor. Graduated from Belarussian Theatre and Art Institute (1988). He works in monumental, easel and park sculpture, medal art. The materials used are bronze, alpax, concrete, wood. Since 1984 he takes part in art exhibitions. Since 1995 he is a member of Union of Artists. He lives in Vitebsk.
He is the author of the monuments to E. Los (1991–1996), M. Chagall («Chagall's Violin», 1997), I. Sollertinsky (2003) which are set in Vitebsk, the coat of arms «Jesus the Saviour» on the Town Hall (1997), compositions «Harmony» (1990) and «Dedication to a Teacher» (2000-02), the bust of the founder of Vitebsk tram F. Pirotsky (1998), the statues «Asclepius» and «Hippocrates» for Medical University (both were created 1999). Among the others – the easel compositions «Allegory of Fire» (2000), «Two» (2006), the memorials dedicated to Vitebsk Art School (1999), to the 1st power plant (2005), medals, the Grand Prize of The International Festival of Arts «Slaviansky Bazaar in Vitebsk» (2002), the memorial plaques.
His works are kept in the Museum of Theatre and Music Culture, Vitebsk regional museum of local history.
