Biography

 

Ivanov Vladimir (25.04.1949, the village Murozhnitsa of Shumilino District, Vitebsk Region. — 06.09.2010, Vitebsk), Belarusian watercolorist. He graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute in 1971. The artist was taught by F. Gumen and I. Stolyarov. In 1988-92 the artist had been working as a head of the plant «Mastatstva». In 1995-2001 he was a chairman of Vitebsk Regional Branch of Belarusian Union of Artists. Since 1980 Vladimir Ustsinovich is a regular participant of art exhibitions, an organizer and participant of open air in memory of the natives of Vitebsk region I. Khrutsky, K. Zaryanko, P. Masherov. The artist was awarded with the Medal of Belarusian Union of Artists «For Merits in Visual Arts». In 1988 the artist became a member of Belarusian Union of Artists. He lived in Vitebsk.

Vladimir Ivanov worked primarily in watercolors, in the genres of still life and landscape. His works are characterized by emotional expressiveness, concreteness in mood transmission. Connection of the image with its symbolic and romantic interpretations, softness of pictorial solutions are inherent in his works.

Among the major works are: landscapes «Polotsk – a Witness of the Centuries» (1980), «Morning in Braslaw» (1987), «Belarusian Shrine» (1995), «Braslaw District» (1996), «The Witness of the Centuries» (1996), «Street in Old Town» (1996), «Zadviniye» (2000), «Spring» (2001); still lifes «Wildflowers» (1992), «Sunflowers» (2003), a series «Flowers» (2004-06), and others.

His works are kept in Polotsk Art Gallery and Vitebsk Art Museum.
