Biography
Konovalov Alexander (01.05.1948, of the Panj, Tajikistan), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (1976). A member of International Association «Sun Square». One of the organizers of private gallery «RYSA» (1990). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1995). Lives in Polotsk.
The artist works in easel painting and drawing. In his works he goes away from concrete images, creating emotional intuitive and associative pictorial space on the canvas. Alexander Vasilyevich often uses the elements of collage and appliqué in his works.
Among the works are: «Space of the Day» (1990), «Silhouette» (1994), «Landscape» (1995), «The Touch» (1997), «Waterfall» (1998), «Old Town» (1999), «Contours» (2002), «Caravan» (2002), «Eternity» (2003), «Pyramid» (2003), «Field» (2004), «Attributes of Art» (2005), «Ornament» (2005), «Autumn in the City» (2006), «Greece» (2005), «Palanga. Window» (2008), «Palanga. Night» (2008), «Palanga. Sea» (2008), «Palanga. Things to Remember» (2008), the diptych «Dachas» (1997) and others.
