Biography
Timokhov Sergey (08.09.1960, v-ge Krotov, Kalinkovichi district, Gomel region - 09.10.2012, Minsk), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Minsk Art College (1979), Belarusian Theatre and Art Institute (1984). Since 1986 the artist worked at Vitebsk plant «Mastatstva», since 1989 he worked as a chief artist of Polotsk, in 1991-2000 – a Head, an artist of Gallery «Rysa» in Polotsk. Since 2007 – a Deputy Chairman of exhibition activity in Belarusian Union of Artists. A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1990).
He worked in easel and monumental painting, as well as in the graphics. Among the works are: paintings «To Carry the Cross» (1989), «The Concert of Ancient Music» (1989), «Ritual Procession-7» (1999), «The Shadow of Veles» (2000), the diptychs «The Sacrament of Kupala Night» (2002), «At Dzyady» (2004), «Grace-1» (2007), graphic sheets «Observing the Eclipse of the Sun-2» (1999) and others.
His works are kept in National Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art (Minsk), the fund of Belarusian Union of Artists (Minsk), the fund of the Ministry of Culture of Russia (Moscow), the Museum named after Marc Chagall (Vitebsk), Art Gallery named after G.Vashchenko (Gomel), Polotsk Art Museum, Gallery «Galeria sztuki Katarzyny Napiórkowskiej» (Warsaw), Gallery «Walentowski Galerien» (Drezden), Gallery «Axel Babke» (Drezden), Gallery «Alla Bulyanskaya» (Moscow, London) as well as in private collections at homeland and abroad.
