Biography
Korzhenewsky Anton (10.11.1910, m. Volyntsy, Verkhnedvinsk district, Vitebsk region - 19.04.1991, Vitebsk), Belarusian artist. He graduated from Vitebsk Art School (1932). A participant of art exhibitions (since 1934). A member of Belarusian Union of Artists (1945). Lived in Vitebsk.
He worked mainly in easel painting, in genres of landscape and still life. The works are characterized by lyrical images, bright color gamma, open-air spontaneity of composition.
Among the works are: landscapes «Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk» (1955), «Kirov Bridge» (1957), «Hometown» (1960), «Novopolotsk Giant» (1963), «Vitebsk in the Evening» (1966), «Veterinary Institute» (1971), «Ancient Vitebsk» (1972), «Vitebsk. Lenin Avenue» (1972), «The Boulevard at Victory Square in Vitebsk» (1976), «Over the Vitba» (1981), «Braslaw» (1984), «Vitebsk Pier» (1986), «Epiphany Cathedral in Polotsk» (1988); still lives «Lilac» (1960), «Still Life with Oranges» (1980), «Peonies, apples, watermelons» (1983) and others.
His works are kept in National Art Museum of Belarus, Belarusian Union of Artists, Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History, City Hall in Moscow.
