Biography

 

Kuzmichev Boris (14.03.1936, Velikie Luki, Russia – 15.04.2000, Vitebsk), a Belarusian artist. He graduated from the Minsk Art College in 1960. Since 1964 he is a member of Belarusian Union of Artists. He lived in Vitebsk.

The artist worked in various techniques of easel graphics, more often – in linocut and monumental and decorative art.

Among the works are: «Winter Landscape» (1967), «Minsk. Gorky Park» (1968), «Belarusian Village» (1986), triptych «Stronger than Death» (1968), a graphic poem «Belarussian People» (1980-88), the cycles «Faces of the Motherland» (1981-88), «Reading Shakespeare» (1986-88).

Boris Kuzmichev is the author of the mosaics «We Sing a Song to the Madness of the Brave» (u. v. Obol, 1977), «Rainbow» (Novopolotsk, 1978), leaded pane «Music» (Tolochyn, 1982), «The Tree of Poetry» in Vitebsk Regional Library (1984), decorative leaded pane at cutter-grinding machines factory (1987) and in the clinic named after Kalinin (Vitebsk, 1988).
